Mpho Popps (born 10 June 1987), real name Mpho Modikoane, is a South African comedian and show host. He is best known for participating in season six of the reality television competition Strictly Come Dancing.
Modikoane has appeared in many other television productions and shows. He participated in the SABC1 reality competition, So You Think You’re Funny!
As a commentator, Mpho handled season two of the Vuzu show 10 Over 10 in 2013. He hosted the reality competition cooking series Your Perfect Sishebo Show in 2014 and returned to the show in 2015.

Mpho Popps was born Mpho Modikoane on 10 June 1987. He has an older sister Tumi Mohale.
Career
Mpho comedian best known being a contestant in the SABC3 reality competition Strictly Come Dancing. People first noticed the talented comedian in the reality competition, So You Think You’re Funny!
The comedian went on the club circuit in Johannesburg. He gained prominence and has shared the stage with top names in the comedy space. Some prominent comedians he has worked with include Trevor Noah and Marc Lottering.
Popps appeared on Blacks Only, Mzansi Magic’s Opening Guys, and Laugh Out Loud. He also graced Late Night with Kgomotso. He played a Kumba in the miniseries Taxi Ride.
In May 2012, Mpho appeared first on DStv’s Comedy Central channel. In 2013, He commentated on season two of the Vuzu show 10 Over 10.
Mpho hosted the SABC1 reality competition cooking series Your Perfect Sishebo Show in 2014 and 2015. He starred in the Mzansi Magic drama series aYeYe in 2015.
Popps appeared in the comedy sketch and variety show The Bantu Hour (Season One). He entered the MTV Africa reality series Lip Sync Battle Africa in 2016.
The TV host cohosted the e.tv reality competition series, So You Think You Can Spin. On the show, contestants aim to win the title of South Africa’s best spinner. He played a police officer, Sargent Seretse, in Big Nunu’s Little Heist, which premiered on Netflix on 28 July.
In August 2022, Modikoane hosted the South African Music Awards (Samas) in Sun City, North West. He scored another gig to host the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) that took place virtually in September 2022.
The funny man has established his name as a stand-up comedian in South Africa. He wants to grow his profile on the international scene.
Personal Life
Mpho Popps is dating a Zimbabwean social media influencer, Roseann Hall. The duo creates content together, and one of their known content is the Flip The Switch challenge. The video got many views on YouTube.
The lovebirds have a daughter, Imani, who looks much like Mpho. His parenting style is liberal, and he supports his daughter’s decision.
