Nwodo Chinonso, born 2 May 1997, known professionally as Kolaboy is a Nigerian Igbo rapper and hip-hop artist. He is best known for rapping in his native language, Igbo and the release of his own version of amapiano titled Kolapiano with the remix featuring the legendary Timaya.

Kolaboy Early Life and Education

Born on May 2, 1997, in Enugu, southeast Nigeria, Kola Boy was born to and raised by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Chinonso.

He attained his first school leaving certificate and SSCE certificate at ST. Charles Lwanga College in Enugu. He then continued on to the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu, for his postgraduate studies.

Kolaboy Career

After his music video for “You didn’t caught me” became popular online, Kola Boy’s career took off. The instrumental track from Olamide’s song “Motigbana” was used in the song’s production.

This inspired him to create another song, “Onyx,” and the music video for it included Emmanuella from Mark Angel’s Comedy. Korrect Sound produced the tune.

He included Harrysong in the track of the song “you didn’t caught me” remix. He recently released another single called “Collect” with singer Wonder J.

Kolaboy went on to release his own version of amapiano in a cultural form featuring the legendary Timaya in the remix. This song caught the attention of netizens on various social media and his followers suddenly increased.

Kolaboy now has a contract with the record company MAF Music and has also featured the legendary Lawrence Obusi popularly know as Sewa in Kolapiano Ep Vol. 3.
