Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State was born on Sunday, June 30, 1963, in the Capital city of Rivers State, Port Harcourt. She is married, a mother of four, and she wants to become the first woman governor in Rivers State.
Work Experience
As the Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State, Beatrice Itubo have been a prominent voice for workers’ rights and have played a critical role in advocating for better wages, working conditions, and job security. Her leadership has helped to improve the lives of countless workers in the state.
Prior to her role as the Chairperson of the NLC, she served as the Chairperson of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Rivers State Branch. In this position, she was responsible for overseeing the union’s activities and advocating for better working conditions for healthcare workers in the state.
In addition to her role as the Chairperson of the NLC and the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Beatrice Itubo also served as the Treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Rivers State. In this position, Beatrice Itubo was in charge of managing the financial affairs of the organization and ensuring that its resources were used in the most effective and efficient way possible.
As a Pioneer Board Member of the Primary Healthcare Management Board, Beatrice Itubo played an important role in improving the quality of healthcare services in the state. Her contributions helped to ensure that healthcare services were accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status.
Education
Comrade Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State has pursued various academic and professional qualifications to deepen her knowledge and expertise in health services and environmental health.
She holds a Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health from the River State College of Health Science and Technology.
She has also completed a course on the Comparative Study of Health Services between South Africa and Nigeria at Workers College Durban, which has given her a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare systems in these countries.
Beatrice Itubo also holds a certification in Trade Union Practice in Changing World from the Michael Imoudu Institute for Labour Studies.
Moreover, she has completed a course in Workplace Health, Safety, and Welfare at Abertay University Dundee.
Meanwhile, obtained her SSCE from the Government Girls Secondary Schoole (GGSS) Harbour Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Political Career
Comrd Beatrice Itubo became the Rivers State Labour Party governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections in June 2023 after polling 201 votes to defeat her closest opponent, Mr. Dienye Braide who scored 71 votes.
Until her emergence as the Labour Party governorship candidate, she was the Rivers State Chairman of the National Labour Congress (NLC).
Chief Beatrice Itubo is among the 25 women contesting for governorship positions in the forthcoming 2023 elections. Her candidacy as the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State was met with instant support from her party, as well as the approval of students and civil servants in the state.
It is hardly surprising that she garnered such widespread support, given her past efforts as the Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State, where she championed causes for students and civil servants. Those affiliated with the NLC in Rivers State would be more familiar with Itubo than those who only recently heard of her name in the 2023 elections.

The former Anambra Gov urges all the Obidients in the state to vote massively for her.
