Michelle Mosalakae (born September 14, 1994) is a South African actress, writer, and theatre director. She is best known for playing Zakhithi on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya.

The actress has appeared in other productions. She played a starring in the series The Queen as Kamina. She takes up her roles and plays them well as a villain or heroine.

Michelle is the owner and chair lady of Armor Football Club, established in 2018. She founded the Michelle Mosalakae Foundation.

Early Life

Michelle Mosalakae was born on September 14, 1994, in Mabopane, north of Pretoria. Michelle grew up in a home where they taught her that she wasn’t different from other children. She is the only child of her parents.

Her father and mother, Sarah, are Tswana. Her love for acting dates back to her younger days. She would perform in front of her family and friends. Her success is all thanks to the love and support she received as a child.

Education

Mosalakae studied at St. Mary’s Diocesan School in Pretoria. She started acting in school productions as a student.

After her matric, she enrolled at Rhodes University. She graduated cum laude with a degree in English and achieved honors in acting, directing, and applied drama.

Career

Mosalakae played a young traditional healer Zakithi in the Mzansi Magic drama series Isibaya. The acting talent she exhibited in portraying the role gained her wider recognition. It became her breakthrough role and thrust her into the limelight.

Playing Zakithi earned her a nomination for Rising Star at the 2017 DStv Mzanzi Viewers’ Choice Awards. She, Kim Jayde, Bontle Modiselle, and Loot Love became Revlon ambassadors in March 2018. She became the first person with albinism to be an ambassador for the international cosmetic giant.

Apart from onscreen acting, she is a director and actress in theatre. She played Kamina, a Congolese villainess, on the Mzansi Magic television series The Queen.

In March 2019, she was a nominee for a Naledi Theatre Award for Best Lead Performance in a Play. Her work in Shoes & Coups, directed and written by Palesa Mazamisa, earned her recognition.

Mosalakae played Rachel Paige in the Netflix action-thriller Silverton Siege in April 2022. She is the Brand Ambassador of Savanna.
