Biography
Nkanyiso Mzimela is a South African actor and musician. He is best known for playing the role of Melusi in the hit telenovela Isibaya.
Many viewers have grown to dislike his character in the series because of his unconcealed disrespect to his parents. Known by the stage name, Night$, he is also a musician and says music was always his first love.
Mzimela debuted his EP, Before Winter, in a live performance at Shaye Lounge in Soweto in December 2020. The EP is soulful, with a mixture of hip-hop and R&B music.

Night$, born Nkanyiso Mzimela, has been passionate about music since he was little. His name is Nkanyiso means the bringer of light.
It all began when he was nine years old in primary school. He knew he had talent in music but needed to build his confidence to face the music as an actor.

Nkanyiso studied production and sound engineering. He chose the course to have more control and improvement of his sound.

Although acting worked out for him before music, Nkanyiso says music was always his first love. His name inspired the EP’s title, Before Winter.

Top musical artists such as Travis Scott, John Legend, and Lauryn Hill influenced him. The first single from the EP, In My Dreams, is all about news anchor Chante Jantjies.
