While in school, she was part of Aurora’s HK, played soccer, worked part-time as a waitress, and joined the campus radio. Another major highlight for her was being named Presenter of the Year at MFM92.6.
Sherlin and three other voices help many Western Cape commuters get to work in good spirits in the morning.
Barends, Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson, and Sibongile ‘Sibs’ Mafu walked away with the Best Breakfast Show prize at Liberty Radio Awards.

Sherlin Barends is pregnant and revealed on Instagram that she’s expecting twins on 28 July 2013. She shared a scan picture of her baby bump and disclosed the due date to be December 2023. She has not told the media who her partner is.
